The Curt Rebellion XD Shock Absorbing Adjustable Ball Mount part # C45949-2516 is an excellent option for towing as it has built-in cushioning which does a great job of absorbing road shock thereby proving a smoother ride.
In regards to weight distribution, this ball mount is not compatible. In regards to whether or not a system should be used, this really comes down to how well the truck can handle the trailer. We recommend using one if the weight of the trailer (while loaded) is more than half that of the truck. If so, a system like the Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System part # C17500 would be wise.
