While the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13900 Would fit your Silverado it would require a lot of modifications be made to the truck by drilling into the frame.
Instead use the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver part # e98849 which is designed specifically for your 2001 Silverado and will not require any drilling. It is also more economical and has a higher weight capacity.
Check your owner's manual to ensure that you do not exceed your particular trucks capacity.
If for some reason your factory wiring has been damamged use the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C55774
