Troubleshooting 2015 GMC Factory Brake Controller Issue
Question:
My trailer brakes function when I squeeze the controller. They do not function when I push the brake pedal??? My controller is built in on the truck. 2015 Gmc 3/4 ton Denali

Your GMC factory brake controller likely needs the settings adjusted, but it also sounds like the controller isn't getting your brake light signal. I recommend checking your gain settings first and then checking the brake light wire going to the controller using a circuit tester like # PTW2992. I've attached an article of brake controller wiring to assist.
If you confirm the wiring is functional, then the brake controller itself may need replaced. I recommend the # 3016-S along with # RED44FR for a clean look and great function. In my opinion this controller is far better than the factory option.
