The Kuat Pivot 2 Swing Away Hitch Extender for Bike Racks - 2" Hitches - Driver's Side # PVD20B is individually rated for 250 lbs tongue weight. If your trailer hitch receiver has a tongue weight rated for less than 500 lbs, then you will need to look at your hitch tongue weight rating and divide it in half to get your maximum load when using this adapter because an adapter like this will reduce the hitch's overall tongue weight capacity by 50%.
