Will the Rockymounts LS 2 Obstruct the View of My License Plate

Question:

Hello, I noticed the user manual and comparison guide for the Rockymounts Splitrail LS 2 seems to mention the older LS model. Im wondering if any dimensions have changed where it will sit higher or not, as I dont want the stowed position to block my license number plate. I saw one video that looked like the ground clearance has been increased, so dont know if this rack will now sit higher than what is stated in the user manual and hitch dimensions since it just says Splitrail LS, not LS 2. Thank you,

When it comes to the RockyMounts Splitrail LS # RKY11404, the 2 just refers to the bike capacity; there is a Splitrail LS 3 and 4 as well. The change you might be referring to was made from the original Splitrail to the Splitrail LS, where the shank was raised to help provide a bit more ground clearance when used on cars and small SUVs like your 2015 Mazda CX-5. With that said, our videos and the owner's manual is for the newest version of this rack.

Any obstruction that occurs of the license plate is going to vary from vehicle to vehicle, and will occur with almost any platform rack to some degree. I've linked a basic image that we have that shows how the Splitrail LS 2 will look when folded up against the vehicle for storage.
