Will the Thule Gateway Pro 3 Bike Rack Fit a 2012 Honda Civic Sedan
Question:
Your website says the Gateway Pro 3 is good for this model car, but I wanted to check with the experts to verify I wont have this problem with a new bike rack? I do not know if the issue is the shape of the trunk, or that the Saris rack was not really compatible with my car, or what. And if it does have this same problem, is there anything I can do to prevent it? I liked the one-dial mechanism on the Thule Raceway, but that ones out of my price range. Thank you very much!

I checked with Thule and the Thule Gateway Pro 3 Bike Rack part # TH78VR is indeed listed as a fit for a 2012 Honda Civic Sedan. In regards to fit, so long as the correct settings are used (Fit Dial: 6) there should be no issues with the hooks sliding down the trunk. I have attached some additional fit notes from Thule below.
- Place top clips in the gap at the front edge of the top of the trunk, hatch or door.
- Place lower clips in the bottom edge of trunk or hatch.
- Lower arm of carrier will rest in the bottom of the license plate well.
