Why Shouldnt the Swagman G10 2-Bike Platform Rack be Used for a Carbon Bike Frame

Because the Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Platform Rack # S64683 uses hooks that will make contact with the frame of your carbon bike. Technically your bike will fit with this rack, but carbon frames are much more sensitive so you want a bike rack that makes no contact with your bike frame to help keep your bike frame safe.

For your application I recommend using the Yakima HoldUp which accomplishes this for you by using hooks that secure your bike by the wheel. This will be compatible with any bike that doesn't have a front fender. If you have a 1-1/4" receiver you need part # Y02445 but if you have a 2" receiver you need part # Y02443.
