Parts Needed to Carry 2 Kayaks on Roof of 2016 Mazda CX-5  

Question:

From reading on your website it looked like the Rola GTX 59767 recommended. Now what are my best options for carrying 2 10 ft kayaks securely, safely. What are your recommendations: My CX-5 has a naked roof - no rails.

The Rola 59767 Sport Series roof rack you'd looked at would make a fine choice, if the combined weight of your kayaks is 100 lbs or less.

If both kayaks combined weigh more than 100 lbs, you'd need to go a different rout as far as a roof rack goes. I'd recommend a Rhino Rack roof rack consisting of the following parts:

-54 inch Vortex Aero crossbars, part # RRVA118B-2
-Roof Rack Legs, part # RRRLKVA
-Vehicle Specific Clamp Kit, part # DK289

For a Kayak Carrier, I'd recommend the etrailer brand J-style carrier, part # e98878. You'll need two of them, but the etrailer kayak carrier is tough, will be fully compatible with your crossbars and will include all the straps to secure the kayak to the carrier as well as the bow/stern tie downs. Anchor straps are even included, to prevent the metal hooks on the tie downs from scratching the vehicle.
