Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch and Base Rails That Fit 2019 Ram 2500
Question:
I have a 2019 Ram 2500 4x4 diesel pickup with a sprayed in bedliner, so dont see any pucks I guess thats what is meant by a puck. We are getting a fifth wheel trailer that has a light weight of 12,000 pounds, so with added weight of goodies, probably would be pushing 15-16K. Would the 18k hitch be enough or should I step up to the 20k hitch just to be safe? I want the Demco auto sliding hitch, so need to know which one to buy by part number if possible. I would get the hitch and kit - the whole thing. I want to make sure I get the right hitch the first time.

I can get the correct Demco Autoslide 5th wheel hitch and base rails for your 2019 Ram 2500, and you are right that if you do not have any puck holes, you do not have the 5th wheel prep package.
Since you have a lighter 5th wheel trailer of 16,000 lbs you do NOT need to get the 21,000 lb capacity # DM8550035. It won't provide you with any extra benefit and you would be paying extra for capacity you don't need, so the best option is to go with the 18,000 lb capacity Autoslide and save a few dollars in the process. The exact Demco 5th wheel hitch and base rails you need (along with the wiring harness if you do not have one) for your 2019 Ram 2500 are the following:
- Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with Slider - 18,000 lbs # DM8550034
- Demco Hijacker Premier Series Above-Bed Base Rails and Custom Installation Kit # DM8552025-71
- Demco 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness # DM8555002
This is one of the best 5th wheel hitches on the market, not to mention by far the most convenient, so you've made a really good choice going with the Hijacker.
