Replacement Bearings for Dexter 8-256 Hub and Unknown Hub

Question:

Hello. Im trying to replace the bearings on my trailer. 2 of the hubs are dexter 8-256. Also on the hub is AF6 and 149. 149 isnt very clear 1 something 9. The other 2 are dexter 94000 w-1 org or qrg. All are on a p-15 slr axle. Im having trouble finding a clear answer on what i need. Im pretty sure these are older hubs. Thanks

We have exactly what you need for a bearing kit for your Dexter 8-256 hub, though the other hubs are going to require some measuring of your spindles, just in case for some reason they are different axles/spindles than the ones the Dexter hubs fit on.

First though, for your Dexter 8-256 hub the correct bearing kit is the Bearing Kit # BK2-100.

This includes the bearings, races, and grease seal for your hubs. And for grease I recommend the Prime Guard Wheel Bearing Hi-Temp Red Grease # L11380, while for a bearing packer I recommend the Bearing Packer # PTW1218 or # ALL647646.

In regards to the unknown hub, in order to find the correct bearings you will need to take apart your hub assembly and look at the bearings themselves; wipe away the grease and you should be able to see the part number stamped directly on them. If you are unable to find them, you need to use Digital Caliper # 301-17068 and measure your spindle to the thousandths of an inch where the bearings ride. You can use the photo I've attached to see exactly where you need to measure.

If you get back to me with the bearings and seal measurements I can try and find the right one for you, or I have added a link to our available bearings, races, and seals for you.
