Adding Portable Solar Panels On A 2021 Dynamax Isata 3 24FW
Question:
I have a 2021Dynamax Isata 3 24fw that has two 100 watt solar panels on the roof. There are connections for adding additional solar panels on the roof, but I think the portable panels will be offer more flexibility due to the ability to point them at the sun. How can I connect these panels to the electrical system without drilling holes and adding other devices to the new RV?

Expert Reply:
The extra solar panel connections on your 2021 Dynamax Isata 3 24fw are going to be for adding roof mounted solar panels. Your roof mounted solar panels are connected directly to your house battery. If you are wanting to use portable solar panels I recommend Go Power Portable Solar System with Digital Solar Controller - 200 Watt Solar Panel Item # 34282610. This portable solar panel kit comes with connectors so you can connect directly to your battery. It comes with a few different options for connecting. There are clamps that can be put on and taken off as needed and there is a cable that can be permanently attached to the battery so when you are ready to connect the portable solar panel, the cable is already there, you just plug into it. The cable that comes with the portable solar panel is 12'. If you are looking to be able to move the panel further from the RV there are longer cables. I recommend Extension Cable for Go Power Portable Solar Kit - 30' Long
