Recommended Hitch Mounted Bike Rack for Single Carbon Fiber Bike on 2020 Subaru Forester
Question:
I just bought a 2020 Subaru Forester with a Class 1 hitch. I only want to carry a single bike lightweight carbon frame. I am considering the Thule Helium Platform 1. Are there any similar racks that I should be considering or that you would recommend or that would be cheaper but provide similar value? I am most interested in having a solid stable rack since I will be driving cross country in all sorts of weather conditions. Thanks for your help. You have a very helpful website.

The Rola Convoy 1 Bike Platform Rack for 1-1/4" Hitches - Wheel Mount or Frame Mount - Tilting # 59307 and the RockyMounts MoloRail Solol # RKY10007 should be considered. Since you are traveling in all weather conditions you may also want to consider adding a bike bag cover like the Swagman Bike Cover for RVs - Large - 2 Bikes # S24FR.
Thule racks typically do not fit factory Subaru hitch receivers so I recommend going with one of these other wheel hook platform rack options for your carbon fiber bike frame.
