For your 2017 Honda Pilot Touring, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13146 which is recessed 5 inches from the outermost part of bumper to the center of the hitch pin hole. The Thule Helium 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting - Wheel Mount # TH44VR will not fit when folded as there won't be space between the bumper and the rack unless you add an extender like # 80307 which I don't really recommend.

If you don't want to use an extender, then I recommend using the Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount - Tilting # S64683 which will give you 1 inch clearance when folded. If you want a wheel mounted option, the Yakima HoldUp 2 Bike Rack for 2" Hitches - Platform Style - Tilting # Y02443 will give you 2 inches clearance.
