I've seen the reviews you mentioned about the TrailerValet XL # TVXL25 and it looks like some of the issues with the trailer "walking out" have been with not correctly attaching the TrailerValet XL to their trailer. The #TVXL25 has a really cool feature where the hitch ball has a collar around it that tightens up and pushes against the bottom of the coupler; when using this and the coupler's lock, you should have no issues with the connection between the TVXL25 and your trailer.

For every issue that I've seen, there are a lot more people that have made this work for them without issue and I believe as long as you're using it properly you'll find that it's well worth the investment.
