Recommended Trailer Wiring for Trailer Battery Charging on 2015 Honda CR-V

Hi I’m going to be purchasing a meerkat trailer/camper and I was told I needed a 7 pole/pin harness to charge the battery on the trailer no brakes on trailer could you tell me what I would need to avoid as much splicing of wires on my car?And to avoid any holes on my hitch ? and would a regular repair shop install something like this if not where?

The trailer wiring harness for your 2015 Honda CR-V begins with the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118561 to get your 4 way trailer connection. Next the # ETBC7L will be used to get the 12V power line and 7-way connector. You can use the No-Drill Mount for Electrical Mounting Bracket - Short # 18140 or the long mount # C57202. Another option is the Curt Easy Mount Bracket for 4- or 5-Way Flat and 6- or 7-Way Trailer Connectors - 2" Hitch # C58000.

On the trailer side, you then simply connect the 12V pin to the trailer battery's positive terminal. The negative of the battery and the ground wire of the trailer wiring needs to be connected to the trailer frame.

If you aren't comfortable installing yourself based on the attached videos and installation details, you can have any local shop install it.
