Question:
I have a 40ft gooseneck flatbed trailer, and I recently bought some 235 80r/16 14 ply mastertrack all steel tires. They work great in the heat, traveling at high speed, and overall durability. The problem I’m having is traction. Even with my trailer being loaded, it has extremely poor traction in the rain, so poor that I cannot travel more than 55mph without the trailer sliding everywhere. And when the trailer is empty, it swings out when going around a curve. Sometimes with it loaded if the freight is light enough. Vehicles to the left or right of me run the risk of getting hit if riding beside me on a freeway going around a curve. Is there a solution to this problem, like improving the treads on the tires, or something else besides buying new tires/wheels? Thanks-

That's really crazy how poor of traction you have with your current tires. The only solution will be to replace them with ones we know have a solid tread design. For your tire size of 235/80R16 we have the Westlake part # WE76FR which have an automotive type tread design which means you'll get excellent wet and dry traction plus has the same 14 ply rating as your current tire as well.
This tire comes with complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your RV or trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change the flat for you.
