2 Inch Adapter Recommendation for Draw-Tite Receiver # 24796
Question:
I want to use a 2inch receiver bike rack with this hitch, so I know I will need an adapter. I have read criticism that some 1 1/4inch hitch tubes are too short to allow such an adapter. Do all of the brands, Curt and DrawTite, have enough length to allow such an adapter to be used?

For your vehicle and the hitch you referenced, I recommend the 1-1/4 inch to 2 inch Brophy Hitch Adapter # HTAD. It will convert any 1-1/4 inch Class I or II receiver to a 2 inch receiver and has enough length for use with the brands you mentioned. A word of caution; using this adapter will cut your gross tongue weight capacity in half and this adapter cannot be used for towing or for using a snow plow. I have provided a video review of this product.
I do want to point out that using an adapter will mean an additional piece of equipment between the receiver and the hitch accessory, leading to more bouncing of the bike rack. If at all possible, I recommend using a rack designed for a Class I receiver.
I have included links to the instructions on the proper installation of the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24796 you referenced, as well as a video showing the installation of this receiver to a 2010 Nissan Altima. While it is not the same vehicle as yours, it is very similar.
If you chose to use this adapter, you will need to purchase a 5/8 inch pin # PC3 for the 2 inch receiver of the adapter and a 1/2 inch pin # PC2 for the 1-1/4 inch receiver end of the adapter that attaches to your 2013 Nissan Altima.
