Question:
I want to carry 4 bikes 2 adult and 2 kids on a cargo carrier. I dont have a carrier yet and I have a 1.25inch hitch mounted on my 2013 Ford C-Max. If the bikes were strategically placed and would actually fit on the carrier, is there any reason to avoid this? assuming the total weight is under the limit on the carrier Thanks!

There is a way for your 2013 Ford C-Max to carry 4 bikes, but a cargo carrier is not a viable option.
We do not carry cargo carriers wide enough to support 4 bikes.
Fortunately, we do have hitch-mounted bike racks that can carry 4 bikes on a 1-1/4" hitch. I recommend the Thule Hitching Post Pro, part # TH934XTR. It's a hanging-style rack that folds down when the bikes are not attached to save on space. It also tilts away to allow access to your hatch. I've linked to a video review of this rack for you to look at.
If you're worried about your bikes frame style not being compatible with a hanging-style rack, we have adapters that can help with that. I recommend the Swagman Deluxe Adapter, part # 64005.
