Should I Continue to use my Weight Distribution and Sway control even with my New GMC Sierra 3500

Ive recently upgraded my truck from a Sierra 1500HD to a Sierra 3500HD dually w/diesel. I have a Travel Trailer Coachman FE 275BHS thats about 7500 lbs loaded and about 1000 lbs tongue weight. Im considering switching to using a new 2.5in hitch receiver ball mount without either Weight Distribution WD or anti-sway. The Aluminum Weigh-Safe seem good and can let you know current tongue weight. I got the bigger truck to eventually go 5th wheel and to have a diesel, but we love our Freedom Express and arent hoping to change it soon. Would love to hear some thoughts or experience with the below. 1. Should I continue to use the WD hitch with the bars attached? 3500 can easily handle the payload on rear tires only. 2. Should I continue to use the squeezing brake pad style anti-sway device?

I have always been of the opinion it is better safe than sorry when it comes to weight distribution and anti sway.

There is of course nothing wrong with the Weigh Safe 2-Ball Mount w/ Built-In Scale part # WS8-25. It will do a great job and as you said ensure you've properly loaded your trailer.

In your situation it is very unlikely you will have a big change in tongue weight in your camper so I don't see how the Weigh Safe is helpful since we already know it is about 1,000 lbs.

I would still use your weight distribution and use your sway control because the w/d will help save wear and tear on the truck's suspension and the sway control will help to prevent any situations when you have a big crosswind or you have a passing truck etc..

I would use the weigh safe as the ball you use for any other trailering needs to ensure you have the proper amount of tongue weight.
