Which Auto Sliding Fifth Wheel Hitch For a 2020 Ford F-250 6 3/4 Bed With OEM Prep Package

Like everyone else towing a fifth wheel, I am looking for a light weight Auto slide fifth wheel hitch to go into the puck system on my 2020 F-250 6.75foot short bed crew cab. I prefer the auto slide as my wife may also be towing and is less experienced in driving with a trailer. I need to make a decision as I pick up my new 5th wheel trailer in early December. Your recommendation is valued and appreciated.

For your 2020 Ford F-250 with a 6 3/4 Foot bed and OEM Prep Package we have two options for auto slide fifth wheel hitches.

The Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider - Single Jaw - Ford Super Duty Prep Package # DM8550024 which is rated for 18,000lbs and the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider - Single Jaw - Ford Super Duty Prep Package # DM8550038 which is rated for 21,000lbs. The Demco Hijacker is a top of the line system that has a wrap around single jaw that gives 360 degree king pin contact for less rattling and a smoother ride.

Both the Demco Hikacker # DM8550024 and Demco Hijacker # DM8550038 are made for the Ford OEM prep package and when removed will not leave rails or brackets in your bed but will not allow you will not be able to use a rotating pin box. I included a video of the Demco Hijacker # DM8550038 being installed on a 2020 Ford F-350 for you to take a look at.

While the Demco Hijacker # DM8550024 is a great system, it is not light weight. You can take it apart in two pieces to make removal with a couple people. If being lightweight is a priority I recommend a manual slider like the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Square Tube Slider # RP30051 with the Reese Elite Series Underbed Rail Adapter # RP30156 which will be roughly 100 lbs lighter than the Demco Hijacker # DM8550024 and roughly 125lbs lighter than the Demco Hijacker # DM8550038.
