Kuat Swing-Away Hitch Adapter

Hi there, I recently installed a Hollywood Racks RV rider for 2 e-bikes on my 2021 Winnebago Travato. I like the convenience having a swing-away hitch so I can easily open the rear doors without unloading the heavy bikes 62.2 lbs each. If the max gross tongue weight of the existing hitch is 350 lbs., can I use a swing-away hitch adapter? Thanks and regards.

Yes, a swing away adapter is a great idea. For a swing away hitch adapter, I recommend the Kuat Pivot 2 # PVP20B which has a weight capacity of 250 lbs. The 250 lb limit is enough to carry two 62 lb bikes and the 80 lb Hollywood Racks bike carrier.

We do have license plate relocation kits available, such as # 32-0055. However, I think attaching your license plate to the swing away adapter would cause your license plate to be obstructed from view, especially when using the bike rack with bikes loaded. You might be better off leaving it in its current location.
