Comparing Rhino Rack Pioneer and Exposed Racks for Rooftop Tent On 2020 Jeep Wrangler JLU

Question:

Hi there, Im debating between the Rhino Rack Backbone system and this Exposed Rack for a roof top tent setup. Id prefer not to drill the hardtop, so Im leaning towards the ER system, but Id have more confidence in static weight load as well as attachment strength with the RRB system. Can you offer a comparison of the two?. Thanks!

In regards to using a rooftop mounted tent, there is really no comparison between the Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform Rack with Backbone Mounting System part # JB0893 and Roof Rack for Jeep JL and JL Unlimited Hardtop part # ER84FR. The reason for this is because there really isn't a good way to attach a rooftop tent to the platform without modifications so the latter will be a much better option for this purpose. In regards to support, most rooftop tents use a ladder which helps with weight capacities.
