A stake body should be referring to a cab and chassis, and we do have a trailer hitch receiver that fits a 1998 Chevy 3500 cab and chassis. You just need to make sure that your frame measures 34 inches outside to outside, and if it does then the correct hitch is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C14082.

If your '98 Chevy has a frame which is not 34 inches wide, you can still add a hitch, but it would need to be a universal weld-on application. The correct one would depend on the exact width of your frame:

- 18 - 44 Inches Wide: Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch with Brackets # C47CR

- 18 - 62 Inches Wide: Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch with Brackets # C97CR
