Brake Controller for Semi w/ Air Brakes Towing Gooseneck Trailer w/ Electric Over Hydraulic Brakes

I have a 2000 Peterbilt semi with air brakes and a gooseneck trailer with electric over hydraulic brakes. Would the P3 be better or the Air to Electric brake controller? Or would their be a better option using the existing 7 pole trailer brake system on the semi?

Using an electric over hydraulic brake system-compatible brake controller like the # 90885 Prodigy P2 or the # 90195 P3 would make for an easier installation than an air over hydraulic controller such as the # HA100400C which would involve tapping into the air lines for the braking system. The Prodigy or the P3 interfaces with the brake lamp switch atop the brake pedal that causes the brake lamps to illuminate when the pedal is pressed, which is a simple electrical connection.

The primary difference between the P3 and the Prodigy P2 is that the P3 offers a more user-friendly display as well as having 5 storable settings that allow you to customize settings for up to 5 different trailers, which could be useful for you if you tow different trailers.

I've linked you to a help article that outlines the installation process for a brake controller.
