Ball Mount Recommendation for 2020 Honda HR-V with Curt Class I Hitch
Question:
hi! I have a 2020 Honda HRV allwheel drive with the Curt hitch that goes with my car. On your website, it is suggested to get a ball mount of 2 5/8inch rise. I would like to know how to calculate the rise that I need. Presently, the inner top of the hitch hole is at 14. The trailer received from u-haul is at 15inch from the ground. So I guest I should take a 1 inch rise? But what happen when I will put the trailer on the hitch? My suspension will probably a little so is it the reason why you propose the 2 5/8 rise? Thank you for the information!

Based on your dimensions you do need a 1 inch rise. Now that said Class I hitches you have to use only the recommended ball mount from the manufacturer would be the part # C45521. Due to the lower capacity of the Class I hitches using a longer or larger ball mount might cause excessive strain on the hitch.
For a hitch ball you'd want the # A-82 for a 2 inch ball or # A-80 for 1-7/8 inch hitch ball.
