For your 2017 GMC 2500, the service body issue isn't solved with just a hitch swap. Instead you will need a long ball mount like # 80232 or a hitch extender for the additional clearance needed. The addition of a hitch extender will reduce your hitch capacity by 50% unless you are using the Torklift Supertruss system.
If you have a heavy trailer, I recommend using the TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V - Dual 2" Receivers # TLC1211 which is compatible with the TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension for SuperHitch Trailer Hitch Receivers - 24" Long # TLE1524, 28 inch long # TLE1528, and 32 inch long # TLE1532 as well as others.
If you have a lightweight trailer, you can keep your factory hitch receiver and then use the Reese Hitch Extender for 2" Trailer Hitches - 14" Long # RP11003 for example.
Hidden Hitch Ball Mount - 3/4" Rise, 2" Drop - 15-3/4" Long - 6,000 lbs
TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension for SuperHitch Trailer Hitch Receivers - 24" Long
TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension for SuperHitch Trailer Hitch Receivers - 28" Long
TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension for SuperHitch Trailer Hitch Receivers - 32" Long
