Do I need an adaptor to plug a 4-Way Flat Trailer connector into a 5-Way Flat Vehicle connector?

You will not need an adapter to plug a 4-way Flat Trailer connector into the 5-way Flat Connector on your vehicle. You will just have one pin un-used on the vehicle side connector which is for the reverse lights. This is commonly needed for trailers with surge brakes.
The only time you would need an adapter like the Curt Trailer Connector Adapter - 4-Way Flat to 5-Way Flat # C57187 is if the connectors were reversed and the trailer had the 5-way flat connector in which case an adapter would need to be used on the vehicle to power the 5th pin which would get attached to the reverse lights.
