Keeping Breakaway Battery Charged On Trailer Used Only A Few Times Per Year
Question:
How do you recommend I charge the break away battery when off the trailer? I only use the trailer a few times a year. It has not been installed yet. I have a 12 volt battery charger. Thx.

To keep the battery of your HydraStar Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator w/ Breakaway and 7-Way RV Harness # HS381-9067 when you are not using the trailer you will need to remove it and use the 12v battery charger you have to keep it charged. You will want to make sure that the charger you have is able to regulate the charge of the battery and will not over charge it.
When you are ready to tow you will need to reinstall the battery and the 12v power pin on your 7-way connector will keep the battery charged.
If your charger is not able to keep the battery from over charging I recommend using the CTEK MULTI US 7002 12-Volt Universal Battery Charger w/ Pulse Maintenance and Backup Power # CTEK56353.
I included a video of the CTEK # CTEK56353 for you to take a look at.
