Looking into towing wiring kits for my 2002 silverado 1500. Currently have a 4 pin installed and was looking into installing a 7 and 4 pin connector. What products would you recommend?

I would be happy to help you add a 4 way and 7 way connector combination to your 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.

The 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 had either a connector to plug in a 7-way connector behind the rear bumper, or had blunt cut wires ready with all of the wiring to install a 7-way connector located along the frame rail or above the spare tire. The wires found are typically;

Dark blue- brake controller output voltage
Red or Orange- 12-volt accessory power
Yellow- left turn/brake lamp
Dark green-right turn/brake lamp
Brown- running lamps

If you have the connector already installed you can simply plug in the 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket # HM40975.

If you have the blunt cut wires I recommend the Universal Wiring Harness for Hopkins Multi-Tow Vehicle-End Trailer Connectors # HM40985 which will install color to color with the above wires, and then plug into the # HM40975 previously mentioned.

Since you are adding a 7-way connector, you will need a trailer brake controller to utilize the trailer brake circuit. I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 which is a top of the line trailer brake controller that has great features like an easy to read LCD screen, and built in easy to understand diagnostics. To install the P3 # 90195 you will simply plug the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter # 3025-P into the P3 and then into the port underneath the dash.

I included installation videos of all of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
