Parts for 7-Way for 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Without Factory Harness

I have a 2020 jeep gr. cher. laredo, it has no factory harness. I have installed the in bumper tow hitch. I have also installed a tekonsha wiring kit with the final result of a 4 pole flat connector at the bumper. The hitch has a hole in it for a 7 blade and flat connection with spring loaded doors that I have acquired. Is there a way to connect the 4 flat to the back of the spring door mechanism? It seems like I can maybe use part #118384 but it seems its reversed from what it should be.

So you can add a 7-way to your 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee, but without the factory tow package/harness you won't be able to utilize the Hopkins 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket # HM40975, which is what I believe you were referring to in regards to "spring loaded doors." The 4-way # 118384 you referenced is also something that plugs directly into the factory tow package and is unable to plug into a 4-way.

With out the factory tow package, to add a 7-way, the first thing needed is the 4-way, which you already have with the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118727, and the next thing you will need is the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7.

This kit includes a 7-way connector, circuit breakers and the rest of the hardware needed for installation. The 4-way you have will plug directly into the 7-way in this kit to give you a working 7-way, and the face of the 7-way does have an option that allows you to plug in a 4-way as well.

For your 2020 Grand Cherokee without the factory tow package and harness, this would be the only option for you to install a 7-way for use with a brake controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195.
