Which Bike Rack Will Fit L Trek Farley Fat Bike With 5" Wide Tires?

Question:

Thanks for the feedback and I did see the specs that said it should work. But please take a second to look at the single speed reviews on the yakima page. The second review from the top and the 8th from the top both say that they have issues with the Farley with the 27.5 wheel and 4.5 combination. KB's review says you may be able to remove the cap, though I'd be surprised if that was the intention. Do you think this is user error on their part and that it will in fact work with the Farley ? Thanks much

The Yakima Single Speed # Y02481 will work great for your L Trek Farley fat bike.

This bike rack allows up to 5" wide tires and up to 29" tall wheels, so you will not have to worry about fitment issues.
The Yakima Single Speed comes with very long wheel straps in order to wrap around very wide tires on fat bikes.

I have attached a demonstration video for this bike rack.

Question:

Can you confirm if a Yakima Single speed hitch rack will work with a size L Trek Farley fat bike. I know the spec says fatbikes with tires up to 5 inches but Farleys have 27.5 inch wheels with 4.8 inch tires. Ive read comments on some sites where customers say it wont work with their Farley. Yakima was no help. They said it should work .

I looked into the comments about fitment issues. I recommend going with the Thule T1 1-Bike Platform Rack # TH9041 to be on the safe side.

As the specifications for this bike rack are similar to the Yakima # Y02481, I have not seen anyone having issues fitting a fat bike with tire width of 4.8" on this Thule bike rack. I also confirmed with Thule that the specifications are accurate (up to 5" wide tires and up to 29" wheels).

The Thule rack also fits 1-1/4" and 2" hitch just like the Yakima.

I have attached a demonstration video for this bike rack.
