Question:
Setting up 2017 Cherokee Trailhawk to tow behind 2014 Itasca Sunstar. Looking at the curt Rambler tow bar, blue ox base plates and cant decide between the blue ox patriot and the demco stay n play braking. How does that look, what else do I need? Thanks

The Blue Ox Patriot part # BRK2019 and the Demco Stay n Play DUO part # DM86VR are the two front runners for supplemental braking units for vehicles like your 2017 Jeep Cherokee. That said they are two distinctly different setups.
The Patriot is a system that installs very easily. But you have to install and remove it every time it's used as basically it fits down into the floor boards and presses the brake pedal. In this style of braking kit it's the best and easiest but it does require setup every time it's used. It's also very easy to transfer to future vehicles as well.
The DUO on the other hand has a much more involved install but you only have to do it one time. If you'll be flat towing a lot this is probably the way to go.
The base plate you'd need is the part # BX1136, the tow bar I'd recommend is the # BX7420, and for lighting the # RM-152-98146-7.
