You mentioned that you have an Blue Ox Avanti tow bar, so I guess you were wanting to reuse that tow bar if possible. I spoke with Blue Ox and that item has been out of production since 2006. We are not going to be able to make a recommendation that includes using that tow bar as we do not have any technical information to work from.

The only base plates we have to fit your 1983 full-size Chevy Blazer are the Roadmaster # 108-1 for crossbar Style with Fixed Arms. I would pair that with the Roadmaster # RM-522 Falcon All Terrain and Non-Binding tow bar. This connects to a 2” receiver hitch common on most coaches. If you have a different towing situation just let me know.

When parked on level ground and connected to coach and Blazer the two bars should be within three inches of level. If they are not you will need a high-low adapter. I have attached a guide measuring and selecting an adapter plus a link to the page with all of our adapters.

I know you only asked for a base plate recommendation, but I figured if your Avanti bar would not work that I would offer a replacement. Should you need further guidance for safety cables, tow bar wiring, supplemental braking systems or more just email me back.
