Is the Lock Core Sold Separately On the Yakima LockUp Hitch Lock and Cable Lock
Question:
What is a lock core? I note that the product description states that lock core sold separately. Do I need to purchase an additional part of accessory for Y07238 to work?

Expert Reply:
No, you do not need to purchase additional parts to use the Yakima LockUp Hitch and Cable Lock, part # Y07238. The set comes ready to use with two keys. A lock core is part of Yakima and other manufacturer systems for changing out locks on their equipment to be keyed alike. If you already have Yakima products you can purchase Yakima Same Key System (SKS) Lock Cores, part # Y07204, to change the locks out so they will all be keyed alike. This is done with a control key.
