Routing Air Lines and Placing Compressor and Gauge from a Firestone Air Bag Kit on a 2008 Dodge Ram

Im installing this kit firestone air bag compressor kit #2097 on a 2008 dodge 3500 cummins megacab. What is the best way to run the air lines from the cab to the compressor? Is there any recommendation on were to place the compressor and pressure gage?

The instructions, which I have linked for you, do not offer a specific path through which to route the tubing because it is different on every vehicle but I can offer some tips.

When routing wire from the cab to the underside of the vehicle to the other components you will need to go through the firewall. There may be an existing grommet or opening you can use but you may need to drill a hole as well. When drilling be careful not to drill through anything on the opposite side of the firewall. Once you have the tube through the firewall be sure to use some sealant to keep out fumes and moisture.

The tubing cannot be bent, kinked, or smooshed in anyway so keep that in mind when going around bends and corners. Stay away from sharp edge, moving parts, or hot components like exhaust and suspension. Tubing can be ran along the frame rails or following along another harness on the truck.

Where you place the gauge and compressor is entirely up to you. You want easy access to both but not in the way of anything else. Air flow needs to be able to get to the compressor but you do not want it hanging down where rocks and other debris can hit it while moving. For the gauge you will want it to be visible and within reach of the driver.
