Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver And 4-Way Trailer Wiring For 2016 Volkswagen Golf GTI
Question:
I own a 2016 VW Golf GTI. I would like to purchase a light aluminum or steel trailer for the purpose of hauling brush from my property to a local landfill. Would it be possible to get a quote on hitch and all accessories required?

I would be happy to recommend a trailer hitch receiver and all of the required components to tow a small trailer with your 2016 Volkswagen Golf GTI.
Starting with the trailer hitch receiver I recommend the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7309 due having a 2" trailer hitch receiver which will give you more options for accessories should you decide to use your hitch to carry a cargo carrier or bike rack in the future. The # 306-X7309 is rated for 200lb maximum tongue weight and 2000lb maximum trailer weight but you will want to check the owner's manual of your vehicle to confirm the towing capacity of your vehicle and use the lower rating between your vehicle and the trailer hitch receiver.
Moving on to wiring I recommend the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C59236 which will give you the 4-way connector needed to power the lights of your trailer.
Lastly you will need a ball mount, hitch ball, and hitch pin and clip which can all be found in the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900.
You can find the most up-to-date prices on the product pages for each of the products mentioned.
I included videos for each of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
