Question:
Hello Im looking for a weld on stub axle to replace the bent one on my log splitter. I have not been able to find one anywhere. May I send you a dimensioned sketch so you can see if you can match it up? Thanks You

I can tell you how to determine the correct spindle based on your measurements, and what you will need is a digital caliper, though the first thing you need to know is the weight rating of your trailer axle. From there, what you need to do is measure your spindle to the thousandths of an inch where the bearings and grease seal ride, along with the length and diameter of your stub.
For example, the accompanying diagram shows the measurements of the #42 Spindle for 5,200 lb to 7,000 lb Trailer Axles # TRU57FR.
This is a round spindle with a 6" stub and measures 2.25" where the seal rides, 1.75" where the inner bearing rides, and 1.25" where the outer bearing rides. I have added a link below to our entire selection of spindles which you can search by capacity and diameter.
