Where To Have Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2021 Subaru Outback Wagon Installed

I am looking at one of your tow hitches for my 2021 Subaru Outback Touring. I have bought your hitches before for other cars, and them easily installed at a Uhaul. This one requires the bumper be removed. do you have places to recommend?

You are correct that some of the trailer hitch receivers for your 2021 Subaru Outback Wagon like the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # DT94MR will require you to remove the rear bumper to get it installed. Any reputable automotive repair shop will be able to complete the installation without any issues.

I will say that the option I recommend is going with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C67JR as it still has the same hidden crosstube design meaning that only the receiver will be visible once installed, but also due to it not requiring the bumper to be removed. This will offer an easier installation and you are not sacrificing anything since the Curt # C67JR actually has a higher tongue weight rating of 600lbs and a trailer weight rating of 4000lbs.

While your Subaru may not be rated for this much weight, it is always nice to know that the trailer hitch you purchase is rated for more than you could ever use so you will never have to worry if you are near the braking point or overloading it.

If you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness like the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118467, and a ball mount, hitch ball, and hitch pin and clip which can all be found in the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900.

I included installation videos for the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
