Recommended Trunk-Mounted 2-Bike Carrier For 2016 VW Golf R

Question:

Hi there, I own a 2016 VW Golf R and since I live in Saudi I just wanted to make absolutely sure that the Saris bones 2 bike rack is compatible with no issues with my car. The top rear spoiler is plastic and I read somewhere that plastic spoilers are not compatible with the type of trunk racks like the Bones 2 which use 2 top hooks to the top spoiler. Please advise. Thank you.

I have confirmed with Saris that the Saris Bones 2 Bike Rack - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms # SA805BL will in fact fit your 2016 VW Golf R. It is designed to fit vehicles with spoiler and uses vinyl-coated hooks that will prevent your vehicle from being scratched. Saris recommends using Hatch Huggers # SA3035 in place of the straps/hooks that come with the Saris Bones 2 in order to offer a custom-fit for vehicles with a small gap between roof and trunk. The Saris Bones 2 has a weight capacity of 35lbs per bike. It is designed to work with women's and children's bikes but some bikes still require the use of an adapter such as # UB01 to safely transport the bike.
