Installation of this hitch does require drilling into your Outback's frame though, so I recommend going a different route, with a hitch that not only does not require drilling, but also has a hidden crosstube for the cleanest look. There are a couple of options which fit the same model years of Outback, and both hitches have the same install and capacities so I recommend just going with the least expensive option:
