What is the Distance From Center of Hitch Pin Hole to Spare Tire on 2011 Toyota RAV4 with Curt 13149

Question:

Hello, I’m interested in buying the Thule Apex Swing XT bike rack for my 2011 RAV4. The website suggests the curt trailer hitch receiver custom fit class III to mount to the car. I’m having a little trouble deciding from the description if those two pieces will give me enough clearance to get past the spare tire mounted on the back, or if I need a hitch extender. Do you have that info available? Thank you

On the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13149 when you measure from the center of the hitch pin hole the edge of the spare tire on your 2011 Toyota RAV4 you're going to have roughly 6". The Thule Apex Swing XT # TH9027XT has 7-1/4" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of the rack, so you're going to have enough space to use this bike carrier without being obstructed by the spare. Additionally the Apex Swing is going to swing away to allow you access to the rear cargo area, so it's a really great solution for a RAV4.

I've linked an installation video of the Curt hitch that outlines the measurement that I mentioned, for you to have a look at as well.
