Recommendation for Gooseneck Conversion of 5TH Wheel 2020 Ram 3500 with B&W Turnover

Question:

My setup on my 2020 Ram 2500 crew-cab with the 6 4 standard bed, equipped with the Ram Air-Rear Suspension with an installed BandW Turnover ball gooseneck. I am planning on purchasing a 2021 Palomino Puma-Unleashed 382THS 39 10 length and GVWR 13,900lbs toyhauler 5th wheel. I have looked at 3 options for doing a gooseneck conversion kit. Which one would you suggest for this application of towing? 1. Convert-A-Ball C5G1216 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter Cushioned Adjusts 12-16 2. Convert-A-Ball C5GX1216 Cushioned 5th Wheel 7.5 Offset Gooseneck Adapter 12-16 3. Combine together the: BandW Hitches GNXA4085 Gooseneck Trailer Hitch 4 Offset Extender w/ 2-5/16 Ball and with the Convert-A-Ball C5G1216 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter Cushioned Adjusts 12-16 Thanks

Of the options that you gave I would suggest going with the Convert-A-Ball # CAB-C5GX1216. You will want to confirm that the bed height and Pin Box are within the 12"-16" tolerance. But I also suggest reaching out to your dealers service department and contacting Palomino directly to ensure that adding this will not void any manufacturer or extended warranties that you may purchase.

I would personally recommend the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # BWRVK3400. It is by far the best option, I know you didn't have it in your list of options but thought it necessary to include in your decision. It will drop into your B&W Turnover and is removable when not needed. You will never have to worry about either Palomino or the dealer changing their mind on the Warranties they give you. And best of all you have a hitch that is designed to last that you will be able to you on multiple different 5th wheels without concern of needing more parts or moving the adapter to a different camper if you decided to trade it for something else.
