Recommended Hitch Reducer To Use 2" Weight Distribution Shank in 3" Trailer Hitch Receiver

Question:

Hello, last summer I bought the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control - 14,000 lbs GTW, 1,400 lbs TW EQ37140ET from your guys. Now this came with a 2 shank. I just upgraded to a Ford Super Duty that has a factory 3 receiver. Am I ok using 2 adapters a 2 to 2 1/2, then a 2 1/2 to 3? It doesnt seem like 3 shanks are readily available, from what Ive been able to find.

Using a hitch reducer like the Curt Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeves - 3" to 2-1/2" or 2" # C45408 would be a great option that will not reduce the capacities of your hitch and is confirmed to work with weight distribution systems like your Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control - 14,000 lbs GTW, 1,400 lbs TW # EQ37140ET.

You are correct that there is not any 3" weight distribution shanks on the market yet, so using the # C45408 would be the easiest way keep using your weight distribution system.

I included a video for each of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
