Recommended Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch For 2018 GMC Sierra 3500 6-1/2 Bed Towing 16000lb 5th Wheel

Question:

We are getting a very high quote for a sliding hitch and install. A friend told me about your site. How hard is it to install these on our own? We have a 2018 Sierra 3500 6.5 bed with OEM prep pkg. Our Fifth wheel is huge. I think it is 16k weight. Any guidance you can provide? We would like to save money but want to do it right.

Since your 2018 GMC Sierra has the OEM prep package it is very easy to get a sliding hitch installed, with the hardest part being the weight of the hitch itself.

Since your truck has the 6-1/2' bed I recommend Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R20 Slider # C55DR with Adapter Rails # C16023 which has a 20000lb trailer weight rating to make sure it is plenty strong for towing your 16000lb trailer, and a will give you room to grow in the future if needed.
