How To Carry 1 Electric Bike And 1 Regular Bike On A 2020 Toyota Camry Hybrid

I have a 2020 Toyota Camry hybrid. I want to carry an e-bike and a regular bike. I have been told conflicting info on whether that is possible. Can you help me with this

Yes you can carry an electric bike and regular bike on your 2021 Toyota Camry, but it does depend on a few things. You first need a trailer hitch receiver if you do not already have one.

There are two options for your vehicle and they are the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Class I - 1-1/4" # C11576 and the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver Class II - 1-1/4" # 36643. The Curt has a max tongue weight of 200lbs while the Draw-Tite has a max tongue weight of 350lbs and for that reason I recommend the Draw-Tite # 36643 so that you can add more weight. Also, the Draw-Tite is Class 2 which allows for more accessories to be installed compared to the Class 1 Curt receiver which will limit what accessories you can mount. Keep in mind you don't want to exceed your vehicle's towing capacity which is found in the owner's manual.

For a bike rack I would look into the Saris Freedom Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches # SA4412B. This fits Class 2 1-1/4" hitch receivers like the Draw-Tite receiver mentioned above, but only fits Class 1 hitch receivers like the Curt receiver at a reduced capacity (35 pounds per bike). The Saris Freedom secures the bikes by the frame, making it compatible with bikes that have fenders or baskets. It has a weight capacity of 60lbs per bike and the tire trays allow up to 2-1/4" wide tires. If you have wider tires, then you will want to add Fat Tire Adapter Kit # SA4419 which can hold up to 5" wide tires.

I have attached demonstration videos for you to check out.
