Bike Rack Solution for 2018 Mazda CX-5 for 42 lb Bike

All of the trunk mounted bike racks are going to have too low of a weight capacity for your 42 lb bikes so you'd have to install a hitch on your 2018 Mazda CX-5 like the # e98902 so that you can use a hitch bike rack since those are only options with the higher weight capacity you need.

The Hollywood Racks Trail Rider part # HR200Z has a 45 lb per bike capacity and would be a great option overall that is also easy to load and very stable. Hitch racks in general offer a more secure attachment, would be much harder to steal, are easier to install/load, and don't contact painted surfaces so there isn't any risk of vehicle damage.
