Question:
I have a 2003 Continental dual axle enclosed trailer. The trailer has been sitting in a wet field and I noticed my Al-Ko 8440 drums were falling apart from rust. I am looking for 4 replacements and 4 electric brake assemblies I found in a previous post the brake assembly that works is AKEBRK-2. I am looking for the corresponding drum for AL-KO 8440. Thank you in advance

The AL/KO 8440 is a 2K capacity, 7 inch hub drum with a 5 on 5-1/4 inch bolt pattern that uses a L44649 inner and outer bearing and a 10-9 grease seal.
The proper replacement would be the etrailer brand # AKHD-545-2-EZ-2K which is compatible with both E-Z Lube or standard spindles. The bearings, grease seal, races, dust cap, lug nuts and even the grease are included.
These drums are compatible with the # AKEBRK-2 brake assemblies you'd mentioned. You'll also need the # BRKH7 mounting hardware for the brake assemblies.
