Recommended Bike Rack For Carrying Priority Turi And Zizzo Bike On 2017 Porsche Macan
Question:
I am thinking of getting one of these bike racks Kuat NV, Thule XTR, Thule Easy Fold, or Saris SuperClamp but I cannot make a decision on which is the best option. My car already has the manufacturer-installed 2inch tow hitch. The Thule EasyFold is at the highest price point and people on other bike forums said it was heavy and hard to install. Well, Im quite small and short 125 lbs, 5ft. The SuperClamp is nice however, I concern about the distance from the rack to the rear car and between bikes and it didnt look so sturdy. I like the design style of Kuat NV. Thule XTR is similar to Kuat NV but less expensive. I like a bike rack that is easy to handle, wheel mount preferred with integrated locks and can carry many various bike types. Could you please recommend a bike rack? Thank you very much.

The Kuat NV 2.0 # BA22B, Saris SuperClamp EX # SA4025F, and ThuleT2 Pro XTR # TH83JV are all considered wheel-mount racks, which typically means they will not work for bikes with fenders, like your Priority Turi.
However, even if your model does happen to have fenders I recommend going with the Saris SuperClamp EX 2 Bike Platform Rack # SA4025F. The more robust design of the SuperClamp's wheel cradles (front and rear) along with their respective straps WILL allow the rack to work with bikes with fenders as confirmed by Saris. The wheel hooks will contact the front and rear tire just below where it meets the fender as shown in the attached photos.
This is actually a very sturdy bike rack and it has the same 60lb weight capacity as the Kuat NV and Thule XTR. It also has a tilting mechanism which allows access to the trunk on most vehicles, without needing to remove the bikes first. Integrated locks secure the bike and carrier to your vehicle's hitch receiver. This is the lightest carrier out of the four you mentioned, weighing just 35lbs.
