I definitely recommend using a weight distribution hitch with sway control with your 2021 Honda Pilot towing a 3,500 lb trailer. The general rule is that if the trailer weight is more than 50 percent of your vehicle weight, you want a weight distribution system, and the reason is even with suspension enhancement you'll still experience sag and sway with so much weight behind your vehicle.

A weight distribution hitch with sway control will level your ride and allow for the most controlled, safest towing experience. You do need to make sure your 2021 Honda Pilot has a trailer hitch rated for use with weight distribution, such as the Draw-Tite # 75225.
