If I were installing the Timbren Axle-Less Suspension System, # A12WS545, on my trailer, I would use a 2 inch steel tubing with a wall thickness of 1/4 inch. I spoke with my contact at Timbren and he told me that they do not have a minimum thickness that they require as long as it was a 2 inch steel square tube.

It is recommended that you add this tube if your trailer does not have a crossmember above the suspension and 1/4 inch is a common wall thickness for a 2 inch square axle.
